Cross-curricular learning: The children used the colour magic software, a graphics and painting program with a range of drawing and special effect tools, to create pictures of the Southern Lights. The Aurora Australis or Southern Lights are mesmerizing, dynamic displays of light that appear in the Antarctic skies in winter.

In literacy we have been learning about Roald Amundsen's expedition to the South Pole and the race he had with Robert Scott.  The children had to make their own notes from fact sheets and non-fiction books.  They then had to write their own stories about Roald Amundsen - his early life, his expedition to the South Pole and the conclusion of the race he had with Scott to get to the South Pole. Here are a selection of their stories.
