Our first topic was 'Once upon a time'.
We spent time looking at fairy tales and decided to focus on the story 'The Dragon Festival'. One day we went into the hall to find huge footprints and what looked to be the remains of a dragon party... it was very exciting!
We decided to create our own dragons out of play-doh and then label them using adjectives! We even thought about what special skill our dragon would have if it went to a dragon festival.
In art we learnt about creating collage using paper. We had a go at changing the way paper looks using our hands. We then created a collage of a castle scene using what we had learnt about creating different textures. Here are some pictures of us creating our collages and our final pieces of art work - enjoy!
We also learnt all about castles! We researched the different parts of castles and what they may have been used for.
Here is a selection of the work we have been doing about castles.

We then went on a very exciting trip to visit Warwick Castle!
We walked around the castle grounds, watched a 'bird of prey' show, went to visit the princess tower and watched the trebuchet being launched. Please take a look at the pictures below to see for yourself what a fantastic day we had!

We finished off our topic with a 'Prince and Princess Day'. We did lots of fun activities, including a bit of dancing in the hall!
