Autumn (2) Topic: Space

Our next topic is called 'To Infinity and Beyond'. We are learning all about Space!

Children made such an effort with their homework over the holidays and made some brilliant rockets.

In literacy we have been reading the story 'Whatever Next'.

We thought about how Baby Bear might be feeling on his journey to the moon.

We then pretended we were Baby Bear and wrote a postcard home to describe our visit to the moon.

It was really interesting to learn about who Neil Armstrong was and what he did.

We researched Neil Armstrong and read lots of information to help us write a fact page about the moon landing.

'One small step for man... One giant leap for mankind!'

We did a science investigation and tested different materials to find out which were waterproof and which were not.

Take a look at some of our work below .

In ICT we have been learning to use different tools in a paint programme. We used these skills to make space pictures.

Can you spot your space picture in the slideshow below? smiley

In DT we have been exploring the best way to join materials to make a puppet.

We then designed and made our own alien finger puppets.
