Our Spring Term Topic 1: Deadly 60

This term we will be learning about some of the world's deadliest animals.  We will be discovering facts about their lifecycles, habitats, how they reproduce and what they need to survive.

As an introduction to our new topic, a homework challenge was set, the children were asked to research a "Deadly 60" animal of their choice.

Here are a selection of their fact sheets.

In Literacy, the children have been looking at the characteristics of informal and formal letters and learning how to write a formal letter. As part of our topic work the children watched an episode of DEADLY 60 (a wildlife documentary programme for children) presented by Steve Backshall. The children wrote to Steve Backshall introducing themselves and asking him questions about his job/career. Here are the children's letters.
