This half term our exciting new topic is called Under The Canopy. This topic has a big science focus which helps us learn about the plants and trees that are in the world's rainforests. We will learn why different plants and animals are suited to different habitats. We will study the lifecycle of a plant and explore the basic needs of plants for survival and the impact of changing these.
As part of our topic we will also look at seasonal and daily weather patterns in the UK and the location of hot and cold areas of the world in relation to the Equator and the North and South Poles. We will discover where the rainforests are in the world and the impact of deforestation.
What a fun topic morning!
The children used pastels to draw animals that may be found in a rainforest and they used multilink to create various animals and then located their habitat on a globe. Here are photos of some of the activities.
