|Exclusions arrangements||We reserve the right to use exclusion from school on either a fixed-term or permanent basis. Decisions to apply this sanction rest with the Executive Headteacher and Head of School. Exclusion is a serious sanction and must be reasonable and proportionate. Careful consideration must be given to the nature of the incident and full account taken of the student’s age, any special educational needs or disability they may have and any religious requirements affecting them. The indicative sanctions table indicates the type of incident that might warrant exclusion, but the list within the table is not exhaustive. Reintegration meetings should always follow a period of fixed term-exclusion.|

|Curriculum content||At Robert Miles Infant Primary School we ensure that all children have a secure grounding in the basics. The children are taught reading, writing and maths every day. Within English and Mathematics lessons the children have their own targets, which allow them to work at their own level and develop at their own pace. Our school curriculum overview can be seen on the following PDF. This is a working document, as the school begins to evolve its own unique curriculum.|

|Behaviour Policy||It is a primary aim of our school that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. The school's behaviour policy is therefore designed to support the way in which all members of the school can work together to promote an environment in which everyone feels happy, safe and secure. Our policy is informed by current DfE guidance and statutory duties as outlined in ‘Behaviour and Discipline in Schools 2017, which states that schools must have a behaviour policy, which must include the school rules.|

Our policy applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the school. We have developed this policy in consultation with the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board (N.S.C.B).
|Anti-bullying policy||The aim of our anti-bullying policy is to clarify for students and staff that bullying is always unacceptable. We wish to encourage an environment where independence is celebrated and individuals can flourish without fear. Every student has the right to be safe and happy, and to be protected when feeling vulnerable.|

|Health and Safety policy||The Governing Body /LGB of Robert Miles Infant School will meet its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other health and safety legislation to provide safe and healthy working conditions for employees, and to ensure that their work does not adversely affect the health and safety of other people such as pupils, students, visitors and contractors. Details of how this will be done are given in this health and safety statement. |
The Governing Body will ensure that effective consultation takes place with all employees on health and safety matters and that individuals are consulted before allocating particular health and safety functions to them.
Where necessary the Governing Body will seek specialist advice to determine the risks to health and safety in the establishment and the precautions required to deal with them.
The Governing Body will provide sufficient information and training in health and safety matters to all employees in respect to the risk to their health and safety.
The Governing Body requires the support of all staff to enable the maintenance of high standards of health and safety in all the schools activities.

|First Aid Policy||Robert Miles Infant school is committed to providing emergency first aid cover to deal with accidents, which occur to employees, children and all categories of visitors.|
To achieve this the school will:
• Have a minimum of one suitably stocked first aid box in each key stage area.
• At least one appointed person to take charge of first aid arrangements.
• Provide information to employees, children and parents on the arrangements for first aid.
• Have a procedure for managing accidents.
• Review the arrangements for first aid annually.
|Complaints policy||Robert Miles Infant School aim to provide an excellent education for all our children, and we believe that the Head of School and other staff work very hard to build positive relationships with all parents. However, the school is obliged to have procedures in place in case there are complaints by parents. |
This document sets out the school’s procedure for addressing complaints. It should be used only when informal attempts to resolve problems have been unsuccessful. If you have any concerns about the school or the education provided, please discuss the matter with your child’s class teacher at the earliest opportunity. The school considers any concerns very seriously and most problems can be resolved at this stage. Please phone the school office to make an appointment with the class teacher.

We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in school life. |PE and Sports Premium Funding Allocation||For the academic year, 2017-18 Robert Miles Infant School has £17,190 in funding.|
|How we are spending the funding||The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2017 to 2018 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.|

Special Education Needs (SEND) Report
|SEND report for the current academic year||At Robert Miles we pride ourselves in the support we give to children with Special Educational Needs.|
Provision maps are drawn up to ensure all children receive the interventions required to support their learning. Specialist teaching assistants are deployed throughout school again to support with learning.
Gifted and Talented children are identified and recorded on the school register. Special activities are planned with these children in mind.

Accessibility Plan for Disabled Pupils
|Accessibility Plan for Disabled Pupils||The Robert Miles Infant School Accessibility Plan has been developed and drawn up based upon information supplied by the Local Authority. MAT, and consultations with pupils, parents, staff and governors of the school. The document will be used to advise other school planning documents and policies and will be reported upon annually in respect of progress and outcomes. The intention is to provide a projected plan for a three-year period ahead of the next review date. Please find attached our Accessibility Plan.|
